Is Double Jeopardy good or bad? And why? (Double Jeopardy the law not the game show)?

I see both pros and cons but what do you think?Is Double Jeopardy good or bad? And why? (Double Jeopardy the law not the game show)?
double-jeopardy is bad. if there was double-jeopardy, they ourt system would consitently harrass a citizen that was proven innocent. i could understand the cons, but the pros outweigh the cons. How would you like it if the DA kept charging you with the exact same charge when you're innocent?Is Double Jeopardy good or bad? And why? (Double Jeopardy the law not the game show)?
but they charge would only charge you again if there was evidence that showed you were obviously guilty so they wouldn't really keep charging someone who is innocent

double jeopardy is good is some ways ut bad in others it depends on the case. in my opinion its a good thing because if you incriminate yourself then you know it was your own doing.

I Need a classroom game for tomorrow based on Astronomy. Suggestions?

We have been using the Apologia Curriculum at our co op for our 3rd-4th grade class. I have 12 students and need a game for tomorrow for them. Im thinking a "Jeopardy" type game, does any one else have any good suggestions?I Need a classroom game for tomorrow based on Astronomy. Suggestions?
I like your Jeopardy idea. What I would do is write down the main things I wanted the kids to take from the class. For instance, it might be important to you that the know the names of the planets. That they know about the reclassification of Pluto. You might want them to be able to which planets are gas giants, etc. I would first make a list of all of those sorts of facts I wanted them really "get". Then I would make the cards of the "answers" to which the kids would reply with their "questions". For instance one card might say something like, "It is the Planet that shares a name with a toxic metal." To which the kid would be expected to answer, "What is Mercury?"

Then I would shuffle up the cards so each kid would get a random question. I would give the kids a bell or something to hit when they are ready to answer. Then you're set to go.I Need a classroom game for tomorrow based on Astronomy. Suggestions?

Jeopardy is a better show, but Wheel of Fortune is more fun to watch because Pat Sajak is always playing grab-*** with the female guests!Jeopardy or Wheel of fortune which is the better game show?
There's not much to technically judge on, so it's basically based on opinion.

I prefer Wheel of Fortune, maybe because I use to watch it as a kid and I have the board game of it. I also think the way of playing is just extremely fun. Guessing the phrases or quotes is always a treat.

However, if I had to go on one, I'd go for Jeopardy because you'd win more money, and it's based on knowledge, not luck.

    No, the people are very smart. I know a teacher who has tried to get on Jeopardy, and she said the test is very hard. You take written tests, play a mock game with other people, go through one-on-one interviews. She says it is very strenuous.

    You can get tickets on their web site.

    Whats a game that we can create for our english project?

    We are supposed to facilitate a group discussion and create a game for the class to play for "The Fall of the House of Usher" by Edger Allen Poe. We're a little bit stuck on what game to play. Jeopardy would be an obvious choice, and we may resort to that, but can you think of anything more creative? And if you have read "The Fall of the House of Usher" maybe something that can relate to that? Like something with a house theme, for example.

    Any ideas are much appreciated!Whats a game that we can create for our english project?
    Do a Jenga like game. Everyone builds their tower. Then have a deck of questions regarding The Fall of the House of Usher. For each wrong answer you take a piece of your "Jenga" Tower down. The first tower to fall loses. You can stop there or keep going until there is only one Tower left standing. Be sure your answers to the questions you make are cited correctly so there is no arguing on who is right or wrong.

    I thought of a Clue and Trivial Pursuit versions as well but they seem pretty original like Jeopardy.

    Now a Candy Land Version would be cool and you need to make to the Fallen House and you can have characters like Madeline, Roderick, The Narrator (Roderick's friend) and Poe and make events in the story like special good and bad places on the Candy Land Board. But, I like my first idea the best.

    its very confusing, and makes me feel stupid...I dont understand the game show Jeopardy...?
    alex trebec (the host) gives the answers and the participants give the questionI dont understand the game show Jeopardy...?
    Jeopardy is one of the oldest TV trivia or general knowledge game shows. If you are talking about the format of the game, it is kind of weird, but that is part of its charm.

    When you answer, you have to put it in the form of a question.

    For example, if the clue read:

    "This large animal is kept on a farm, and known for its meat and milk production."

    The answer would likely be stated as:

    "What is a cow?"

    The questions are divided into categories, sometimes with humorous or double meaning titles. They are worth more points the harder they are. Hidden among the clues are several "Daily Doubles", where you can wager all or part of what you have earned in the game so far.

    Then on final Jeopardy, everyone gets a chance to first wager how much $$ to risk based on their knowledge of the category, and then to answer the question within the time limit.

    The questions are among the hardest of any on game shows today, and to consistently be good at it requires a lot of general knowledge. Don't feel stupid if it seems hard; it's supposed to! Just feel very smart if and when you know the answer, especially when the on-air contestants don't!!I dont understand the game show Jeopardy...?
    There are 5 answers per category which are shown to the person when picked. The person has to give the answer in the form of a question. For instance--if the category was Movies, the one picked said "He is best remembered as Forrest Gump." You'd have to answer, "Who is Tom Hanks?"

    If it wasn't a question (you just said,"Tom Hanks"), you wouldn't get the points/dollar amount.

    Contestants on the game show Jeopardy! depress spring-loaded buttons to "buzz in" and provide..?

    "buzz in" and provide the question corresponding to to revealed answer. The force constant on these buttons is about 130 N/m. Estimate the amount of energy it takes-- at minimum-- to buzz in.

    I wouldn't even know where to start with this problem. Can anyone help?Contestants on the game show Jeopardy! depress spring-loaded buttons to "buzz in" and provide..?
    the energy to compress or stretch a spring is 1/2 kx^2 where k is the spring constant and x is the distance the spring is compressed/stretched from it equilibrium point

    so make an estimate of how far the push the button in..two inches? that would be 5 cm or 0.05m, if that seems reasonable to you, set x=0.05 and solve for energy:

    energy = 1/2 (130 N/m)(0.05m)^2Contestants on the game show Jeopardy! depress spring-loaded buttons to "buzz in" and provide..?
    What a retarded question. How can they expect you to get an answer with any kind of consistency if they don't tell you how far you must depress the button in order to buzz in?

    Contestants on the game show Jeopardy! depress spring-loaded buttons to "buzz in" and provide..?
    Working backwards from the formula for the spring and knowing the answer in the back of my book, they assumed that you had to depress it 1 cm (0.01 m). How anyone would know that is beyond me though.

    Is god familiar with the term Double Jeopardy? (not the game show)?

    It's considered a basic right that you cannot be tried and punished for the same thing twice.

    So, our sinning causes bad things to happen to us on earth...then when we die, we're judged again and some sent to hell.

    Doesn't god know just punishment doesn't work that way?Is god familiar with the term Double Jeopardy? (not the game show)?
    Yea, um that is the way the US and a few other countries work. It's a man created right not a God given one. good try though.

    Jesus taught it a little differently. Basically he said the judgement is already passed. Those who believe in him, get set free from the judgement: "He who believes on him who sent me has eternal life, and shall not come into judgement, but has already passed from death to life." (John 5:24).

    When Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, death came in to mankind. The Bible says "the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life." So, the curse of sin is always there, in this life and forever if nothing takes it away. Jesus paid the price to take it away. But you have to believe in him in order to receive it. That's the only catch. What's the only condition on a free gift? That you have to receive it. Don't we have to sign the back of a check in order to get the money? That's salvation.

    You suffer here, but not because of your own sins necessarily. It could be something your parents did. Or someone else could shoot you and make you a cripple for example. Justice will happen in the life to come, but it is not like God is punishing us now for everything we do. Many unrighteous people are living damn good lives here on Earth today.

    You can see how Jesus is the only way out of this mess. Sin isn't our fault. Sin is our fault. We're born into it, we add to it.

    Yours inChrist, Nick
    Nope, you missed it.

    Grace means that you are forgiven the sin, between you and God. But you still pay the earthly consequence here on Earth. Perhaps others end up paying for it too.

    It is a reminder that what we do is less that perfect and that there are consequences to all we do.

    People are not sent to hell becasue they sin. People are sent to hell because they choose hell over heaven. The gift is free, all you got to do is accept it.

  • Has anyone ever seen this lopsided of a game going into final Jeopardy?

    I am watching Jeopardy and the leader had $22,800. The other two contestants had $200 each. I could not imagine having to stand up there getting my azz handed to me like that. I had seen this guy before and he is good but damn.Has anyone ever seen this lopsided of a game going into final Jeopardy?
    1) He is not an idiot. He had to pass an extremely difficult 50 question test to get on the show, AND manage to look good during the audition, AND keep a cool head without being affected by the lights and the set and the pressure, AND buzz in faster than his opponents who have also passed the same difficult test, AND be able to answer the clue in a matter of seconds. And he had to keep doing this enough times to get $22,800. An idiot could not do any of this.

    2) He's going to win anyways, unless he makes an idiotic wager, which he will not do since it has been established that he is not an idiot. He's already won some money from his last game, and he is going to come back tomorrow, so why not bet big? Even if he loses $20,000, he will still have $2,800 and the best his opponents can do is double their score to $400. He still wins the game and gets to play again tomorrow to win even more money. It was an optional risk he was willing to take, and just because he didn't break the bank doesn't mean he didn't play well.Has anyone ever seen this lopsided of a game going into final Jeopardy?

    I have already received suggestions from friends saying that I should make a monopoly game using the elements, but I need something a little more simple, like jeopardy, but that game is too plain.How to make an educational game using the periodic table.?
    Some elements are easier than others to figure out, maybe a type of game where a player would get to pick cards, of different stregths (difficulty) and they would get point values. They can move along a board that would have an end, but they can move only based on the amount of points they get from a correct answer. Like a blank card with only the symbol on it.

    Maybe elements like Oxygen, Carbon, Hydrogen...easy ones like that would be 1 point/space.

    Slightly harder ones like Neon, Krypton, Argon could be 2 points/spaces.

    You can go up from there, I don;t even know how many elements there are now, seems they add new ones every once in a while.

    Maybe you could throw bonus questions in there, like:

    name 3 noble gases?

    Name 3 precious metals?

    Answers would have to be in symbol form of course.How to make an educational game using the periodic table.?
    it depends a apon the age group if young kids involved try a memory game. where you have the periodic symbols on 1 card face down and on another card you have the matching element. Mix them all up and the player not only would need to know the element but the periodic symbol as well to get a correct match.

    Jeopardy the game show, what do 2nd and 3rd places win?

    Do you think its cheap? Compared to "Deal or No Deal" and others where contestants win millions?Jeopardy the game show, what do 2nd and 3rd places win?
    I would love to know the answer to this. They used to give them prizes which they showed you at the end of the program.

    I do not think it is cheap. I watch Jeopardy to try and answer the questions, although no-one in the family can stand Alex Trebeck. As for that deal show I watched it twice - so boring.

    Well sorry i did not answer your question, but I look forward to seeing the reply. Enjoy your day!!Jeopardy the game show, what do 2nd and 3rd places win?
    they use to give them stuff like bose radios and luggage but i dont think they say anymore

    What are the rules of Jeopardy?

    I'm planning a Jeopardy style game for tomorrow... I get the basic idea of the board, and the questions, but I'm not sure of the rules involved.

    Could someone please give me a quick idiot's guide to the game? Thanks!What are the rules of Jeopardy?
    All 'answers' are in the form of questions.

    The person who answered the last question right gets to pick the next question except at the very beginning of the game where the returning champion gets to start off, and at the beginning of double jeopardy where the person with the lowest score gets to start off.

    There are two 'boards' full of questions. The first one is 'jeopardy', the second one is 'double jeopardy'. In double jeopardy the questions are a little harder and their values are twice as high. This makes the game more competitive, less predictable, because if you are behind at first you have a better chance of getting ahead in double jeopardy.

    At the end is one question called 'final jeopardy' in which all the contestants can bet as much as they like, so the game is still very open unless one contestant has more than twice as much as the other two (which is rare). The idea is that even up to the last minute, anyone can win. Lots of game shows do this to maintain suspense. And since all three contestants answer this question, the answer must be written down.

    Also in the single and double jeopardy rounds there are 'daily double' questions. One in single jeopardy, two in double jeopardy. When you hit one of these questions you can decide how much to risk, up to the amount you've won so far or $1000, whichever is more.

    With six people you might do better with teams. We play Trivial Pursuit that way and it makes it a lot more interesting because two heads are better than one. Or you could do a tournament where you start with two games, 3 people in each game, and then the winners or the 3 highest scorers play a final round to pick one winner.

    Also give some thought to the questions. They should start out easier and then get tougher as you go down the board, and a little harder in the double jeopardy round. The final jeopardy question should not be just the very hardest question you can think of, but should be pretty hard.What are the rules of Jeopardy?
    Double jeopardy is when the person comes on the board and asks you a question example a guy comes on a board and talks about blank in a cave coming down. You get to kinda bet and doable the points of that question if you wish.

    Final jeopardy is easy simply ask a open ended question and have ever one answer on a piece of paper with there wager of points if they will there points they wagered will be doubled if not they will lose them.

  • Do you find jingles from ads, game shows and other shows to be catchy and invasive?

    I am serious about this question. Every time I hear the theme for the game show, Jeopardy, it sticks! Hubby, used to watch this and I could simply hear that jingle and it would play over and over in my head! Catchy little diddy!

    Do you have a jingle which invades your thoughts when you hear it?Do you find jingles from ads, game shows and other shows to be catchy and invasive?
    Oh, yes, they're incredibly invasive and meant to be that way. I don't know if you remember the old commercial for Salem cigarettes; it had a jingle that went "you can take Salem out of the country, but you can't take the country out of Salem". That ran for about a year, then they purposely left out the "you can't take the country out of Salem" part, leaving you hanging - and, naturally, filling it in in your head. The one for Almond Joy and Mounds is catchy, too. Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't. Ha ha.
    I think we had more of these when we were younger...Who doesn't remember the Pepsodent song? Or the Brylcreem ad? So many of those little ditties just got stuck and wouldn't budge!

    Not so much nowadays....although I do agree that the Jeopardy theme is instantly recognisable.Do you find jingles from ads, game shows and other shows to be catchy and invasive?
    Now the knuckle dragging neanderthal male comes out.On Saturday morning when I'm listening to The Golf Show Budweiser has a short commercial jingle called Real Men of Genius for Bud Light.
    Hi gaillee, I know some of them can drive me insane.

    I do like the odd ad theme though this being one of them.

    Yes and it makes no sense at all:

    "A mind is a terrible thing to waste."
    I have had, but I can't think of any at this time. I do like the parity of "I lost on Jeopardy" by weird Al.
    No, just plain old irritating.
    The only thing I hate is the wheel spinning..and that can be on the Wheel of Fortune or Price is Right..!! arrrgghh!!! So annoying!!!
    if I hear that one "Go compare" i'll throw something at the screen, I manage to silence it

    How is the scoring in the game show Jeopardy! done...can someone explain the process in detail please?

    if possible...could you also explain to me what happens when someone answers the question wrong and what happens when they are right? Thnx :DHow is the scoring in the game show Jeopardy! done...can someone explain the process in detail please?
    It's hard to explain.

    But I will try my hardest to tell you.

    Ok, to begin you start a 0.

    Then Player 1 goes first! She/He gets $500 and they get a chance to answer a letter. If the continue getting right answers, there score goes up. If they don't, it moves on to the next player.

    Player 2 goes!

    He gets Bankrupt, but he answers a letter. He would like to solve to the puzzle and then he gets a bonus.

    This continues on and on until something happens, like Doubles or The game ended.

    Hope I helped.

    In da game jeopardy, was there ever a tie? and if so....?

    is there a tiebreaker? what happens? i never see it happened.In da game jeopardy, was there ever a tie? and if so....?
    Yes. On the show aired March 16, 2007, all three contestants ended Final Jeopardy with $16,000. If two or more contestants tie for first place, they are declared "co-champions;" each keeps his or her winnings and comes back on the following episode. Three contestants have each finished two consecutive games as co-champions.In da game jeopardy, was there ever a tie? and if so....?
    On a Friday, In March of 2007 the first 3-way tie ever occured on the show. They all ended up with exactly $16,000. The three contestants were Jamey Kirby, Anders Martinson and Scott Weiss who all answered the Final Jeopardy question correctly.

    It was questioned as to why one of the contestants did not wager one more dollar (the usual strategy if available) as it didn't make much sense. Nonetheless, it happened and they all came back on Monday for a rematch.

  • Does game shows like Jeopardy use the same questions? Does the show have a limit on asking the same question?

    Since the show is 46 years old, I'm sure they've asked the same type of questions at some point or another over the years. I don't know the specific details, but I've been watching the show for years and have never really heard a question that sounded familiar.

    Whether they phrase the question, add (updated) details or link the question to a different subject, I don't think the same exact question has been featured in an episode twice.

    Trying to make a Jeopardy Game...?

    I'm using Macromedia/Adobe Flash, with actionscripting.

    Can someone please tell me, in EXTREME lamen's terms:

    (1) How I can get Flash to keep track of which question box was selected and by proxy, know which question to ask

    (2) How I can get Flash to read what was entered in an input text field (i.e, the answer is "Tomatoe" and the person types "Ravioli" into the text field)

    (3) How to establish a scoring system based on the two questions above. Like, if the person clicks a question box, I want the system to know how much that box is worth (points-wise) and if a person answer it correctly, I'd like to know how to trac, how many points they get.

    I DO NOT WANT YOU TO DO THE WOK FOR ME, I JUST NEED TO KNOW SCRIPTING METHODS AND MAYBE A FEW LINES OF CODING TO UNDERSTAND WHAT DIRECTION I CAN TAKE.

    ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT

    and yes i HAVE looked online at flash help sites already.Trying to make a Jeopardy Game...?
    1. Use action script to read through a list of questions via XML.

    Then create a second file or store it in variables to match up questions answered vs questions left.

    2. Same theory but this time you need to eval the input boxes:

    function checkText():Void{

    //Extract the number from the input text field in focus

    focus = Selection.getFocus();

    myTextNumber = focus.substr(15);

    //Compare the original text with the input text

    origMyText = myArray[myTextNumber];

    trace(origMyText); // returns the correct string

    newMyArray = ["myInput"+myTextNumber];

    trace(newMyArray); // returns myInput0

    newMyText = newMyArray.text;

    trace(newMyText); // returns undefined

    if(newMyText == origMyText){

    trace(newMyText+" = "+origMyText);

    }

    };

    3. Create a point structure questions worth X points if XML document says 5 right then 5 * X points to give final score.

    Making anime jeopardy game. List Tsunderes and Traps?

    Note: Wherever I say "anime", I also mean manga, just to widen the options a little. (End note)

    I need four tsunderes and three traps, from easiest to guess, to hardest to guess.

    Typically, the easiest one would be a character from an anime that everyone or nearly everyone knows. Like Sailor Moon or Pokemon.

    The hardest to guess would be from a not-so-popular anime, like.. Monster or something.

    Trap = a boy who looks like a girl.

    Perfect, well-known example: Haku from Naruto. (That's my first one)

    So now I need the list to start with a trap that's not as well known, but isn't too impossible to find.

    The last of course needs to be one that someone would never guess. Or at least have a SUPER hard time guessing it.Making anime jeopardy game. List Tsunderes and Traps?

    Okay I'm having lot's of problems with it. Just got it yesterday. I finally set up the buzzers(which took a really friggen' long time btw) Okay anyways alot of the times the question freezes and I know how to get out of the question but than it just skips it. First question: Why does it freeze up like that? (remember it's brandnew)

    And than when I try to play two or three player it freezes up when you try to put your name in than you can push enter and just skip it and than choose your episode and than before it even let's you choose a category or question it says to eject disc and restart. Second Question: How do I get it to let me play multiple player?The new Jeopardy game?
    You are one of the unlucky people to buy a bugged game. Just return it for another. There is a game error where it loops so it freezes.

    i have no idea... i always thought that on Jeopardy the 2nd %26amp; 3rd place contestants got to keep their money
    No, they get extremely lame supplemental prizes (ie, a case of soup, a $50 gift certificate to a sponsored store). In fact, they also need to pay their own way to the game show. So if they don't get first they usually lose money.

    If it's a "Tournament of Champions" they get some money ... see:

    ...Wheel of Fortune is not a different story. It's exactly the same. Wheel of Fortune is definitely no different. I think the losers walk away with $1000

    Second place gets $2000; third place gets $1000. They used to give prizes to 2nd and 3rd (usually a trip for 2nd and some object for 3rd), but they started doing it this way a few years ago, possibly coinciding with the time that Sony bought the show from Merv Griffin. In the earliest incarnation of the show, the contestants used to keep their money; however, if someone happened to be in 2nd or 3rd place but happened to have a good amount of money, they would not bet to win because they were happy with the amount they had. So the prizes were to stop this from happening.
    You can find out for yourself at www.jeopardy.com and www.wheeloffortune.com.
    No, the shows feels the contestants won't be as competitive if they know they will walk away with some money. All or nothing.
    i think they get consolation prizes, but not their money.

    Ideas for an educational game to use in my class?

    Have to teach some other students about a class of medications. At the end of our presentation we're supposed to have some sort of game to test their knowledge of what I just taught. Other people have used Jeopardy type games or quiz show styles but I would like something more original.Ideas for an educational game to use in my class?
    My favorite class game is "Numbered Heads Together". My second favorite is HEALTH-O

    Numbered Heads Together.. you can do a Google search and find variations, but basically divide class into groups of 4. Each member of the group is assigned to a # (1-4). Goal of game is for the group to NOT get points (low score wins). The group gets an unwanted point if they talk out, try to cheat, or give a wrong answer.

    Ask a question, first few seconds is silent individual thought, then you say "discuss".. then the groups discuss (quietly so nearby groups cannot hear). Call "time".. no more discussion at this point. Randomly select a number using dice or spinner (1-4... remember each group member is represented by a number), that group member goes to different location in room to write their answer. Then say "reveal your answers". Each of the group members sent to answer, then reveals what they wrote. Wrong answers earn their group an unwanted point.

    HEALTH-O is basically like Bingo. Make up the cards ahead of time. Have a list of 25 vocab words. Students fill in the squares with vocab words in random order (they only use 24 words, and have one "Free space" in the middle. That way each card is different.) Then call out clues (instead of a "B4" like you would in BINGO). If they think they have a HEALTH-O, make them restate at least three of the clues. Cards can be used by other classes... You'll just need to cut up some colored paper to cover spaces as clues are called out.Ideas for an educational game to use in my class?
    don't know what you mean by medication but here are a few ideas,...

    Concentration- matching pieces on the board, they have to match the medicine to the job it performs

    Balloon pop- put the name of medicines on a piece of paper and then put it in a balloon, put the meaning of the medicines in other balloons, students have to pop balloons and match them up

    Password- Divide group into two teams. Have a student from each group come up and stand with back to the board, write the medicine behind them. Teams have to give clues to their student up at the front to help them guess the medicine.

    These are just a few. Don't know your age level, but tons of things you can do with any age level.

    I need help with a Powerpoint Game... Like Jeopardy!?

    Ok, so i'm in Multi-Media class right now, and we have been given an assignment to make a game on Microsoft Powerpoint using hyperlinks.

    Kind of like Jeopardy... that some use to study. However, unlike Jeopardy, in this game, I'm working with a partner to create it and we must "develop a game that supports creativity, logic, and problem solving."

    The only thing I can think of IS Jeopardy... But, I want to make it fun, and not so much for study purposes...

    so, Any Ideas???? Because me and my project partner are at a loss...

    Just wondering because I love the show.When you play Jeopardy! do you keep the money you have won even though you didn't win the game?
    Starting with the 1984 revival, rather than receiving their scores in cash, runners-up are awarded consolation prizes; the second-place finisher is awarded $2,000 and the third place finisher is awarded $1,000. Prior to May 16, 2002, the second-place player typically received a vacation package and the third-place player received merchandise.

    Since the show does not provide airfare or lodging for most contestants (airfare was provided for returning champions' subsequent flights to L.A.), these cash consolation prizes alleviated the financial burden of appearing on the show.When you play Jeopardy! do you keep the money you have won even though you didn't win the game?

    What age are the students?What's a great idea for a game I can play with the children I am teaching about what we have learned?
    Split them into two teams and play numbered heads. Here's how it works:

    You ask a question and give them a couple seconds to discuss the question with their group and then you hold up a certain number of fingers (between 1 and 4). The kids on each team were assigned a number (1 through 4) at the beginning of the game and the person with that number stands up. Whichever team has their representative stand up first gets the chance to answer the question- no talking to their group at this point. If the wrong person in the group stands up or they give the wrong answer, the representative from the other team gets to try the question.

    I've tried this with large groups and it gets where certain teams give up but if you only had two teams I think it would work well.

  • When I saw Jeopardy (game show) for the first time today, I didn't get the game. Can you pls explain it to me?

    Jeopardy, although it works on the premise of reverse Answer --%26gt; Question format, it still has the players to figure out the answer.

    Jeopardy Provides the Answer, unlike in other trivia games. The players have to Provide the correct corresponding/respective Question.

    for example, and notice I said corresponding/respective Question because the Category the Answer is given has to correspond to the question.

    U.S. A. Presidents

    First president of the U.S.A (answer)

    Who is George Washington (q)

    Had this been a regular trivia asking game The question Who is George Washington?

    (a) The 1st president of the U.S.A.

    Another category

    MOVIES

    (a) Movie set in Georgia about little black boy with a lot of troubles.

    (q) Who is George Washington

    See the questions are the same but the categories are different.When I saw Jeopardy (game show) for the first time today, I didn't get the game. Can you pls explain it to me?
    Certainly. Instead of asking a question, Jeopardy presents the "Answer" in a specific category and it is the contestant's responsibility to "guess the question". The higher the cash prize, the more difficult the question. Double Jeopardy allows a contestant to bet how much they think they can win on the answer.
    What planet are you from?When I saw Jeopardy (game show) for the first time today, I didn't get the game. Can you pls explain it to me?
    You have to be really smart and know a little bit about everything. You have to answer the questions in the form of a question... "Who Is ..." or "What Is..."

    Example: What can be used to make copies of a document?

    Answer: "What is a Xerox machine."
    and the contestant has to form their "answer" as a question - who is _____, what is _____, etcWhen I saw Jeopardy (game show) for the first time today, I didn't get the game. Can you pls explain it to me?
    and the simpler answers often give two clues to the question information, like a rhyme. The category names limit the information, especially those that include a sylable or letter in quotes, where the question must refer to the limit - if the category is "the 'Y' of it" and the answer is "A bread spread made only from strained grape juice", the question must look like "What is grape jelly?" not like "What is grape jam" because jam does not have a y in it, beside being wrong (jam is made from unstrained juice.)

    I'm trying to make a jeopardy game using JAVA language.?

    Can someone please tell me how do I make the buttons dissapear from the screen after the user has clicked them? THanks!I'm trying to make a jeopardy game using JAVA language.?
    That's not much information, but in general if you are using a JButton, you can do setVisible(false) to hide the button. This is an example. Save it as Example.java and compile and run it. When you click the button, it will vanish. Just close the window to quit.

    import javax.swing.*;

    import java.awt.event.*;

    public class Example {

    public static void main(String[] args) {

    JFrame frame = new JFrame("Example");

    final JButton button = new JButton("Click Me!");

    button.addActionListener(new ActionListener() {

    public void actionPerformed(Event event) {

    button.setVisible(false);

    }

    });

    frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(WindowCon鈥?br>
    frame.getContentPane().add(button);

    frame.pack();

    frame.setVisible(true);

    }

    }

    Hope this helps!

    EDIT:

    Okay, so you are using AWT. That's not much different. Here is the same example, but using AWT only (no Swing classes).

    import java.awt.BorderLayout;

    import java.awt.Button;

    import java.awt.Frame;

    import java.awt.event.ActionEvent;

    import java.awt.event.ActionListener;

    import java.awt.event.WindowAdapter;

    import java.awt.event.WindowEvent;

    public class Example {

    public static void main(String[] args) {

    Frame frame = new Frame();

    frame.addWindowListener(new WindowAdapter() {

    @Override

    public void windowClosing(WindowEvent e) {

    System.exit(0);

    }

    });

    final Button button = new Button("Click Me!");

    button.addActionListener(new ActionListener() {

    @Override

    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {

    button.setVisible(false);

    }

    });

    frame.add(button, BorderLayout.CENTER);

    frame.pack();

    frame.setVisible(true);

    }

    }

    As for the idea of using an image, that's fine, but it requires that you have the images. Further, you can use images as the label for a button, so you can do this with buttons. I think it is simpler to just use setVisible(false) to hide the GUI items you want to hide, however.

    Hope this helps!I'm trying to make a jeopardy game using JAVA language.?
    Instead of using a JButton, consider using a JLabel which can have an optional image associated with it.

    When you click the JLabel the first time, set it to have the image with the question.

    After the question is answered, set it to have a blank image associated with it.

    Jeopardy game for Nintendo DS problem?

    Okay, I'm having a weird issue for my DS. I've had the game for 2 days, I've been playing the Easy games. However, just now, both this level and Custom Level have not been loading. Both the top and bottom screens of my DS are just black, and the game is still on. I tried Medium level, and it loaded immediately. I've had the DS for only two-four months. I tried turning the game off and on. Nothing. I've taken the game out of the DS slot, and blowing both the game and DS slot, and nothing.

    Is this an issue with my game, or the DS itself? Thank you!!Jeopardy game for Nintendo DS problem?
