How is the scoring in the game show Jeopardy! done...can someone explain the process in detail please?

But I will try my hardest to tell you.

Ok, to begin you start a 0.

Then Player 1 goes first! She/He gets $500 and they get a chance to answer a letter. If the continue getting right answers, there score goes up. If they don't, it moves on to the next player.

Player 2 goes!

He gets Bankrupt, but he answers a letter. He would like to solve to the puzzle and then he gets a bonus.

This continues on and on until something happens, like Doubles or The game ended.
