Math Question: Theoretically, what is the most money you can win in one game on Jeopardy ?

One caveat: All the Daily Doubles occur on the highest dollar amounts.Math Question: Theoretically, what is the most money you can win in one game on Jeopardy ?
Curious George has it right with your qualification of "the highest dollar amounts."

AlaskaDave's answer of $531,200 is based on a pre-Daily Double second round of $32,400. This is achieved by completely answer 5 categories for $6,000 each, plus the $400, $800, and $1200 answers in the last category for a total of 32,400. Leaving the last two questions, the $1600 and the $2000, in the last category to hide the daily doubles, which does not meet your criteria of the 'highest dollar' amounts.

CuriousGeorge's answer correctly leaves two $2000 answers on the board to hide the daily doubles for a pre-Daily Double second round of $32,000, which explains the $400 discrepancy between the pre-Daily Double 2nd round totals for each of these guy's answers.

So, confirming CuriousGeorge,

1st Round, answering 5 categories for $3000 each, plus the $200, $400, $600, %26amp; $800 answers in the 6th category gives a total of $17,000 which is doubled with the 1st Daily Double to $34,000.

2nd Round, answering 4 categories completely and answering the $400, $800, $1200 %26amp; $1600 answers in the last two categories adds another $32,000 for a total of $66,000 leaving the last two $2000 answers on the board. Doubled to 132,000 with the 2nd Daily Double, and doubled again to 264,000 with the 3rd Daily Double.

Into Final Jeopardy, to double again to ...

$528,000
I calculated it myself and showed the calculations. Wiki didn't give the $528,000 value, simple multplication and addition did. I went there to verify question values and number of DD. It listed theoretical maximum, which I included to be nice. Apparently you're better off just repeating others.

There were two conflicting answers. Neither showed details of how they got totals for each round. Providing the details of scores for each round, explaining the discrepancy of the two prior answers, and allowing the asker to make an informed decision on which answer to accept earned the 'best answer'

Whatever. I just didn't appreciate the inferrence by the asker that all I did was look it up in Wikipedia when in fact I wasted my own time doing calculations that he/she probably could have done hisself/herself.

Alex, I'd like to pass on this question.

I'll take boy scout cookies for $100 Alex.

(I don't do math......it's in my contract. *shrugs*)
$163,600

**Updated**

Oops - reviewing my answer, I know I was wrong - here's the correct answer based on your limitations.

$531,200

$34,000 for Round 1 with Daily Doubles

$32,400 for Round 2 without Daily Doubles

$132,800 after first daily double

$265,600 after second daily double

$531,200 after Final Jeopardy.
$528,000 (under your restrictions of DD being under the highest values, in reality it is $566,400)

--------

$34000 (Round 1) + $32000 (Round 2 before Daily Doubles) = $66,000

$66,000 * 2 (First DD) = $132,000

$132,000 * 2 (Second DD) = $264,000

$264,000 * 2 (Final Jeopardy Max Bet) = $528,000
